About me
My name is Cheryl Conley and I was born and raised in Texas. I recently moved to Liberty Hill after living and working in Florida for 15 years.
After graduating from Bay City High School in Bay City, Texas, I attended college at Sam Houston State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Life/Earth Science. My master’s degree in Educational Leadership was earned through Walden University. During my 23-year career in education, I have taught middle school science and fourth grade, served as an instructional coach and District Coordinator of Professional Development, and worked as an Assistant Principal. Recognized as an outstanding educator by both the Florida and Texas legislatures, I served as the 2011 Florida Teacher of the Year and was welcomed to the White House by the President of the United States after being named one of four finalists for the 2011 National Teacher of the Year award by the CCSSO.
I am a proud mom of two children! In my free time, I love to travel, shop, and spend time with my family and friends. I also love to fish and spend time outdoors.
I believe that a sense of trust and community are at the heart of a great campus and I strive to be fair, consistent, and fun. My two favorite quotes are, “It’s not the answer that enlightens, but the question,” and “I am not here to be average, I’m here to be awesome.” I love work with all stakeholders, especially teachers, to empower students daily.
