2025 LHISD Summer Learning Conference

Teachers will explore four evidence-based strategies—retrieval practice, spaced practice, interleaving, and feedback-driven metacognition—that enhance long-term learning and student retention. Participants will learn how to incorporate these “power tools” into daily instruction through practical, low-prep methods. These strategies are especially effective in meeting the unique needs of gifted students by increasing cognitive challenge, promoting deeper engagement, and supporting self-regulation and metacognition.
