In this collaborative session, teachers will work together to design and refine district common assessments that align with TEKS, support instructional goals, and provide meaningful data. Participants will review current assessments, ensure content clarity and rigor, and make adjustments to better support student learning and instructional planning.

This collaborative session invites 8th grade advanced social studies and AP teachers to explore the learning progression across middle and high school. Participants will discuss the academic and skill-based shifts needed for students to successfully transition into a variety of AP Social Studies courses, including AP Human Geography, AP U.S. History, and others. Focus areas include vertical alignment, critical thinking skills, academic vocabulary, and strategies to build readiness for rigorous coursework.
